This Cookie Policy explains how KUTUZOV & ASSOCIATES, P.C. ("Firm," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our website at www.kutuzov.org (the "Site"). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control our use of them.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes in more detail how we collect, use, and protect personal information generally.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website. Cookies are widely used to make websites function properly, work more efficiently, and provide information to website owners.
-
First-party cookies are set directly by us (KUTUZOV & ASSOCIATES, P.C.).
-
Third-party cookies are set by parties other than us, such as analytics providers or advertising networks. These parties can recognize your browser or device both on our Site and on other websites they serve.
We may also use similar tracking technologies, such as web beacons (also called "tracking pixels" or "clear GIFs"), pixel tags, and local storage. References to "cookies" in this policy include these related technologies unless otherwise noted.
2. Why We Use Cookies
We use cookies for the following purposes:
Essential / Strictly Necessary Required for the Site to function — e.g., enabling navigation, security features, and access to secure areas. These cannot be disabled through our Cookie Consent Manager because the Site cannot function properly without them.
Performance & Analytics. Help us understand how visitors interact with the Site (e.g., pages visited, time on site, error messages) so we can improve performance and content. This includes cookies from third-party analytics providers such as Google Analytics.
Functionality. Remember choices you make (such as language or region) to provide a more personalized experience.
Advertising / Targeting. Used by us or third-party advertising partners to deliver content and ads relevant to your interests, limit repeat ad display, and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. This may include cookies from providers such as Google Ads, Meta (Facebook) Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or similar services.
Third-party analytics and advertising providers may collect information about your visits to this and other websites, including your IP address, device identifiers, and browsing behavior, in accordance with their own privacy policies. We do not control these third parties' use of such information.
3. Categories of Cookies We Use
Because the specific cookies deployed on the Site may change over time as we update our analytics and advertising tools, we do not maintain a fixed, itemized cookie list within this policy. Current details on active cookies, their providers, and their retention periods are available through the Cookie Consent Manager accessible via the notification banner on the Site.
4. Your Choices and Rights
Cookie Consent Manager. You may accept or reject non-essential cookies (Performance & Analytics, Functionality, and Advertising) through our Cookie Consent Manager, available in the cookie notification banner and at the bottom of the Site. Essential cookies cannot be rejected, as they are necessary for the Site to operate.
Browser Controls. Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings, including blocking or deleting cookies. Because browser controls vary, please consult your browser's help resources for instructions. Note that blocking certain cookies may affect the availability or functionality of parts of the Site.
California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA). If you are a California resident, you may have the right to:
-
Know what personal information we collect through cookies and how it is used;
-
Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information (as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act) — including for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising;
-
Limit the use of sensitive personal information; and
-
Request deletion of personal information collected via cookies, subject to certain exceptions.
You can exercise these rights by using the "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link in the Site footer or the Cookie Consent Manager, or by contacting us using the information below. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of minors under 16 without affirmative authorization.
Global Privacy Control. Where technically feasible, we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals as a valid method of opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information for browsers or extensions that support it.
Other U.S. State Privacy Laws. If you are a resident of a state with a comprehensive privacy law (e.g., Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, or others as applicable), you may have similar rights to opt out of targeted advertising and the sale of personal information. You may exercise these rights through the mechanisms described above.
5. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because there is no common industry standard for recognizing DNT signals, our Site does not currently respond to them. We instead offer the cookie controls and opt-out mechanisms described above.
6. Advertising Cookies and Interest-Based Advertising
Third parties may use cookies, web beacons, and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to this and other websites in order to provide advertising about goods and services that may interest you, and to measure advertising effectiveness. This information does not generally enable us or these third parties to identify your name or contact details unless you have separately provided that information to them.
You may opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through industry tools such as:
-
The Digital Advertising Alliance: optout.aboutads.info
-
The Network Advertising Initiative: optout.networkadvertising.org
Opting out through these tools does not opt you out of all advertising; you may still see ads that are not based on your interests.
7. Changes to This Cookie Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in the cookies and technologies we use, or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
8. Contact Us
If you have questions about this Cookie Policy or our use of cookies and similar technologies, please contact us at:

1. What Information Do We Collect?
Personal information you disclose to us
In Short: We collect personal information that you provide to us.
We collect personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express interest in obtaining information about the Firm or our services, when you participate in activities on the Website (such as submitting a contact or intake form), or when you otherwise contact us.
The personal information we collect may include: names; phone numbers; email addresses; mailing addresses; contact preferences; billing addresses; payment card numbers; contact or authentication data; and information you choose to submit through an intake or contact form.
Important note on prospective client communications: Submitting information through our Website does not create an attorney-client relationship, and you should not send confidential or privileged information through the Website's contact forms until an attorney-client relationship has been formally established through a signed engagement letter.
All personal information you provide to us must be true, complete, and accurate, and you must notify us of any changes.
2. How Do We Use Your Information?
In Short: We process your information for purposes based on legitimate business interests, the fulfillment of our contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, and/or your consent.
We use the information we collect or receive to:
-
Facilitate account creation and the login process, including via linked third-party accounts.
-
Respond to inquiries from prospective clients and evaluate potential engagements.
-
Send administrative information, such as updates to our terms, conditions, and policies.
-
Protect our Services, including for fraud monitoring and prevention.
-
Enforce our terms, conditions, and policies, and comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
-
Respond to legal requests, subpoenas, or other legal process.
-
Fulfill and manage billing for legal services provided pursuant to an engagement agreement.
-
Respond to user inquiries and provide client or prospective client support.
-
Send marketing and promotional communications (such as newsletters or firm updates), where you have opted in or as otherwise permitted by law. You may opt out at any time (see Section 9).
-
Deliver targeted advertising, and work with third parties who do so, tailored to your interests and to measure effectiveness.
-
Conduct other business purposes, such as data analysis, identifying usage trends, and evaluating and improving our Website and marketing. We may use and store this information in aggregated and anonymized form.
3. Will Your Information Be Shared With Anyone?
In Short: We only share information with your consent, to comply with law, to provide services, to protect rights, or to fulfill business obligations.
We may process or share your data based on the following legal bases:
-
Consent — where you have given specific consent for a specific purpose.
-
Legitimate Interests — where processing is reasonably necessary to achieve our legitimate business interests.
-
Performance of a Contract — including our engagement agreements with clients.
-
Legal Obligations — including in response to court orders, subpoenas, or governmental requests, and consistent with our professional and ethical obligations as attorneys.
-
Vital Interests — where necessary to investigate or prevent fraud, threats to safety, or illegal activity.
We may also share information in connection with a business transfer, such as a merger, sale of firm assets, or acquisition.
Nothing in this section requires or permits disclosure of information protected by the attorney-client privilege or work product doctrine, which is governed by our professional obligations, not this policy.
4. Do We Use Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies?
In Short: We may use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect and store information.
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies (such as web beacons and pixels), including third-party analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) and advertising cookies (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag). Specific details are set out in our separate Cookie Policy, available at www.kutuzov.org/cookie-policy.
5. Do We Use Google Maps?
In Short: We may use Google Maps to help visitors locate our office.
If our Website uses Google Maps APIs, such use is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy. We may obtain and store on your device ("cache") location information for this purpose. You may revoke consent at any time by contacting us using the details in Section 14.
6. How Long Do We Keep Your Information?
In Short: We keep your information as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this notice, unless a longer period is required by law.
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law — including applicable rules governing retention of client files and records under the New York Rules of Professional Conduct, which may require retention well beyond 2 years for certain client-related records. For non-client website and marketing data not subject to professional retention obligations, we generally do not retain personal information for longer than 2 years absent a legitimate business need.
When we no longer have an ongoing legitimate need to process personal information, we will delete or anonymize it, or, if that is not possible (e.g., data stored in backup archives), we will securely isolate the information from further processing until deletion is possible.
7. How Do We Keep Your Information Safe?
In Short: We aim to protect your information through organizational and technical security measures.
We have implemented appropriate technical and organizational security measures designed to protect personal information we process. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Transmission of personal information to and from our Website is at your own risk.
8. Do We Collect Information From Minors?
In Short: We do not knowingly collect data from or market to children under 18.
We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under 18 years of age. By using the Website, you represent that you are at least 18, or that you are the parent or guardian of a minor and consent to that minor's use of the Website. If we learn we have collected personal information from a user under 18, we will take reasonable steps to delete such data. If you believe we may have collected information from a minor, contact us at viacheslav@kutuzov.esq.
9. What Are Your Privacy Rights?
In Short: Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and you may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
You may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to applicable law and any exceptions related to our recordkeeping or professional obligations. To make such a request, use the contact details in Section 14.
If we rely on your consent to process personal information, you may withdraw consent at any time; this will not affect the lawfulness of processing conducted before withdrawal.
Marketing communications: You can unsubscribe from our marketing emails at any time by using the unsubscribe link in those emails, or by contacting us directly.
Cookies: Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can set your browser to remove or reject cookies; doing so may affect certain features of the Website. To opt out of interest-based advertising, visit optout.aboutads.info.
10. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features
Most web browsers and some mobile operating systems include a Do-Not-Track ("DNT") feature. No uniform technology standard for recognizing DNT signals has been finalized, and we do not currently respond to DNT signals. If a standard is adopted that we must follow, we will update this notice accordingly.
11. Do California Residents Have Specific Privacy Rights?
In Short: Yes. California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information under the CCPA, as amended by the CPRA.

12. Do Other U.S. State Residents Have Privacy Rights?
